2-3 tbsp mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
1 stalk celery, finely chopped
2 tbsp red onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh parsley or dill, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
2 slices of bread (whole wheat, sourdough, or your favorite type)
Lettuce leaves and tomato slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Make the tuna salad: In a medium bowl, combine the tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, celery, red onion, and parsley (or dill). Mix well, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Assemble the sandwich: Place a scoop of tuna salad on one slice of bread. Top with lettuce and tomato if desired, then add the second slice of bread.
Serve: Cut in half if desired, and enjoy!
Tips:
For a twist, add a handful of chopped pickles or capers for a briny flavor.
Serve with a side of potato chips or a small salad for a complete meal.
