BANANA BREAD

ngredients:

  • Wet Ingredients:
    • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
    • 1/3 cup melted butter
    • 1/2 cup sugar (you can adjust to taste)
    • 1 large egg, beaten
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Dry Ingredients:
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • Pinch of salt
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for added flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the baking soda and salt with the flour.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay. If using, fold in nuts or chocolate chips at this point.
  5. Pour into Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake: Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top is browning too quickly, you can cover it with aluminum foil during the last 15-20 minutes of baking.
  7. Cool: Remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Serve: Slice and enjoy your delicious banana bread! It can be served warm or at room temperature.

Tips:

  • The bread can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days or in the fridge for up to a week.
  • You can also freeze banana bread for longer storage; wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil.

Enjoy your homemade banana bread!
