Ingredients:
- 2 slices of ciabatta, baguette, or sourdough bread
- 1 large ripe tomato, sliced
- 1 ball of fresh mozzarella, sliced
- A handful of fresh basil leaves
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (or balsamic vinegar)
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Toast the bread: Lightly toast the bread to give it a crispy texture. Brush each slice with a little olive oil for added flavor if desired.
- Layer the ingredients: On one slice of the toasted bread, arrange the sliced tomato and mozzarella. Add a generous handful of basil leaves on top.
- Season with salt and black pepper for added flavor.
- Drizzle olive oil and balsamic glaze (or balsamic vinegar) over the top for a burst of flavor.
- Top with the second slice of bread, press gently, and slice in half.

- Pesto Twist: Spread a layer of pesto on the bread for extra depth of flavor.
- Avocado Addition: Add a few slices of avocado for a creamy texture.
